WE PROVIDE PEDAITRIC SEDATON TAILORED TO YOUR CHILD’S NEEDS
MAY INCLUDE ORAL MEDICATIONS, NITROUS OXIDE (LAUGHING GAS) AND OR IV SEDATIO
WE RECOMMEND ONE TREATMENT APPOINTMENT ONLY TO TAKE CARE OF ALL YOUR CHILD’S DENTAL WORK

Based on our vast experiences, children generally do not want to come back the second time with the dentist for continual treatment. (Remember your child prefers “One and Done”) In the best interest of your child, we do full mouth rehabilitation in one dental visit only. Our team works very fast and efficiently so the child’s treatment does not exceed over 25 minutes in total chair time for the full mouth rehabilitation. (Remember, children get impatient quickly, who knowns that better than us) Doctor may recommend various sedation procedures that best fit your child’s needs. We will discuss the benefits and risks of all such modalities offered. You as a parent are welcome to accompany your child as a silent observer and if needed, the team will ask you to assist. (You may get a unique chance to be “dental assistant in training” (Not bad for a new skill) Because the team works very fast, if you have any questions regarding the treatment, such questions should be asked prior to start of the treatment, not during active sedation procedure, this may take away the critical time allocation of sedation time specially reserved for your child.
Remember, our team works fast as a well-oiled professional machine and super focused team of doctors and assistants, all thinking two or three steps in advance for a given procedure on your child, therefore, we request you to turn off your cell phone or beeping watches or any other devises that may cause unnecessary distractions to the team, before entering the treatment area.
Remember, we exceed the normal CDC guidelines to maintain sterile environment for your child to receive optimal treatment without any cross contamination, especially after Covid; we recommend, not to bring in bags, laptops, bottles or food back into the treatment areas for the best interest of the children we serve.
Normally, most children may be recommended nitrous oxide/oxygen – or laughing gas – to relax them for their dental treatment. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is given through a small breathing mask which is placed over the child’s nose/mouth, allowing them to relax into a twilight feeling, without putting them to sleep. Dr. Sohi and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recognizes this technique as a very safe, effective technique for treating children’s dental needs. The gas is mild, easily taken, and it is quickly eliminated from the body, and it is non-addictive. While inhaling nitrous oxide/oxygen, your child remains fully conscious, as we will talk to the child and may tell a story that your child loves to hear your child will maintain all of their natural reflexes.
Prior to your appointment:
Please inform us of any change to your child’s health and/or medical condition.Tell us about any respiratory condition that makes breathing through the nose difficult for your child. It may limit the effectiveness of the nitrous oxide/oxygen.
Let us know if your child is taking any medication on the day of the appointment.

If your child wants to sleep, place them on their side with their chin up. Wake your child and encourage them to have something to drink in order to prevent dehydration.
Your child’s first meal should be light and easily digestible.
You child should recover quickly, on a very rare occasion, if your child tells you that their tummy hurts and they may vomits, help them bend over and turn their head to the side to insure that they do not ingest the vomit.
